A couple of large groups had landed just before us and they were getting ready to head up the Kahiltna Glacier. Actually the first mile is downhill, not up. This is called "Heartbreak Hill", a name whose reason becomes apparent on the return journey.
The peak in the backgound is Mt. Frances (10,450 feet).
